Fletcher Returning to NASCAR Action

Milton, ON; John Fletcher will be making a return to the track this weekend driving the LUCAS OIL/JBM Leasing #49 Dodge in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Delaware 200. This is the team’s first outing in 2009 as the series first stop was in St Eustache, QC, and only plan to do the Ontario NASCAR Stops. Fletcher and the LUCAS OIL/JBM Leasing # 49 Dodge will be carrying support from B&B Decals, Trailers By Jim Bray, Bray Auto/Truck Recyclers, Stratafax Calgary, Little Blessing’s and HYPE Energy Drinks.

The expected crowd of 10,000 people will witness more then 20 of Canada’s best teams compete in the only national stock car touring series as it makes its first stop at the NASCAR Sanctioned speedway. Although John has not been in the car since his last race in 2008 Cayuga Event, he will not be waiting that long again.

John and the LUCAS Oil/JBM Leasing Team will also run Mosport International Speedway Dickies 200 event at the famed 2.459 Road Course June 13-14, but also a return to OSCAAR on Saturday June 13 at the 1/3 mile Barrie Speedway, double duty in two different style cars on two extreme different tracks, what a way to get the 2009 season underway. The roar of the #61 JBM Leasing OSCAAR and perennial favorite to win has not been heard in the series since 2007 and the 2006 series champion is looking forward to the return at a track he has won three in a row.

John Claws to top fifteen, ends up nineteenth

Montreal, QC; John Fletcher and the London Mechanical/JBM Leasing #49 Dodge Avenger may have had a nineteen place result at the NAPA 100, the result is not indicative of the teams effort. The seventh event of the 2008 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series run on the historic Circuit Gilles Villenueve with 33 of Canada's top stock stars tackling the 13 turn 2.7 mile track that is home to the Canadian Grand Prix. Montreal race fans where treated to another great race in which John started 31st.

Starting 31st in the NAPA 100 due to a lack of track time in which was a result of a broken clutch during practice after 4 laps and another clutch failure in qualifying. Starting at the tail of the field with only 7 laps on a track the team has not been on or seen before Fridays practice was fine with the London Mechanical/JBM Leasing pilot. "With out the experience here we need a couple of laps at the start to make sure the car will perform" John also added "The #1 will have to go to the back, he will be good to follow for a bit". John referring to Peter Gibbons having to go to the rear as well for a clutch change as well.

With the NAPA 100 under way John began to advance positions and feeling comfortable with the tight track. The race had two cautions to tighten the field up but cost John spots on the track due to NASCAR's rule of freezing the field to the prior completed lap resulting in John having to pass cars that where passed already. As the race was coming to a close with three laps remaining and running in the fifteenth sport and poised to gain a spot or two more, John looped the car coming to the front strait only to fined in post race review of the car that the front sway bar broke thus causing the ill handling in the final laps.

The London Mechanical/JBM Leasing #49 Dodge Avenger, John Fletcher and Bray Autosport thanks HYPE Energy and Unique Food of Montreal, Montreal's THE TEAM 990 AM, B&B Decals of Oakville, Little Blessing's Children's Decor of Milton, Bray Truck and Auto Recyclers of Acton, Brantford's Trailers by Jim Bray, Statafax  Calgary, LUCAS Oil and when in Montreal be sure to visit one of the five Le Biftheque locations.
